Aynı zamanda bir müzisyen ve ressam da olan Hopkins amcamız "tiyatro" okumaya başladıktan sonra kendini oyuncu olarak buluveriyor. Meşhur film The Silence of the Lambs ile ilk Oscar'ını kazananan Hopkins, bir diğer Oscar'ını ise nefis film "The Father" ile kaptı.
